Guillermo McGill ~ Cielo ~ CD

McGill has worked as drummer and percussionist with a long list of Flamenco and Jazz artists both in Spain and abroad (Chano Dominguez, Canizares, Riqueni, Morente, Esperanza Fernandez, John Abercrombie, Joe Pass, Juan Maya "Marote," Pardo, Benavent, Javier Ruibal, Ana Belen, Joan Manuel Serrat, Martirio, and a long etcetera). He is being recognized more and more for his own musical composition and leadership. Here he leads his ensemble in a set of pretty straight jazz. Flamenco is no more than an occasional inflection, but the music is solid throughout.
