Gualberto ~ A la Vida al Dolor ~ CD

Re-issue of two short albums from 1975 on which Gualberto begins his exploration of the instrumental Cante (sometimes "singing" it on the sitar, other times accompanying a "cantaor" violin). He also presents several pieces inspired by his sojourn in America (singing in perfect English), and some instrumentals for Spanish guitar and strings. But the real reason to get this record is to hear the Sevillano cult classic "Tarantos para Jimi Hendrix," which juxtaposes Flamenco and Electric guitars, and Flamenco and Rock musics, as well as anyone before or since Gualberto.
