The Instrument's Family
Born in 1951, Manuel Adalid (son) is a second generation luthier. The son of Manuel Adalid (father) and head luthier at Guitarras Francisco Esteve since 1980, he is widely regarded as one of the most experimental and innovative guitar makers in Spain.
While the Esteve workshop makes production guitars, Adalid maintains his own workshop within Esteve, where he carries on experiments and personally makes the guitars that get labelled with his name.
He has been awarded the title of “Master Artisan” by the Government of Valencia. He has been Vice President of the Spanish Guild of Master Guitar Artisans, as well as President of the Spanish Association of Musical Instrument Makers - clear indications of the respect he enjoys among other luthiers in Spain.
