Motion Trio ~ Pictures from the Street ~ CD

Not entirely Gipsy music, but impossible to resist.... A trio of acoustic accordionists who have set out to reinvent their instrument for the 21st Century. The sounds they get from their accordions are mind-boggling. It's hard to believe that all the music, rhythm, and sound effects on their two recordings are acoustically produced simply by three accordions, but it is. Their compositions and arrangements draw on a wide variety of sources, with plenty of Eastern European flavors in the mix, but many others as well. Tremendous variety in feel and texture from one piece to the next. Very cool.
