Harri Stojka ~ A Tribute to Gypsy Swing ~ CD

A Roma Gipsy based in Austria, Stojka is a favorite on the European Gipsy Jazz circuit. This is his first recording to become available in the US, and features a mix of Django compositions, American and Austrian popular song arrangements, and an original. The traditional Hot Club instrumentation consists of guitars, banjo, double bass, brush snare, and violin. Stojka's playing is notable for its melodic lyricism, the ensemble for its spirited playfulness. Together, they make this music very infectious and almost impossible not to like.
