Stochelo Rosenberg, Romane ~ Gypsy Guitar Masters ~ CD & DVD-PAL

These two guitarists have been working together more and more in recent years, and are at the very forefront of the dynamic Gipsy Jazz movement. They are at their best live, and this CD/DVD package should be a defining work for the duo. The CD recording was taken from an inspired live performance, with the two guitarists discreetly accompanied by Marc-Michel Le Bevillon on upright bass. They perform several Django compositions and a few originals, all true to the spirit of the genre while tastefully updating the style through their own musical contributions. The DVD (in PAL format, so it can be viewed on multi-format players and/or most personal computers) contains a 52-minute documentary about the duo by Sophie Paviot, a short segment on the Gipsy Jazz guitar as an instrument, and a 35-minute live performance (no duplication of material on the CD).
