Romane ~ Djangovision ~ CD
An interesting sonic and conceptual departure for Romane, whose albums usually feature very Django-esque original compositions performed on acoustic guitars and upright bass. Here he presents nine tunes, all composed by Django himself, arranged for guitar (electric as well as acoustic), Hammond organ, bass and drums. The arrangements are quite unexpected, and the choice of tunes is also full of surprises. Most of these pieces were composed by Django in his later, less celebrated period, and suggested musical directions which his premature death prevented him from pursuing.
