Gipsy singer from Utrera inspired as much by the Cante Jondo of his grandfather (of the same name) as by the modern stylings of Bambino and others in a program of Cancion por Bulerias, Rumba, Tango, etc. The instrumentation is lean and mean: strong Flamenco guitars, palmas and cajon, some tight bass here and there, and lots of jaleos. The singing likewise is very Flamenco, emotional, and full of power. If you like the more melodic song-like flavors of Flamenco, you should enjoy this record very much.
