Enrique Morente ~ Lorca ~ CD

Morente’s latest recording is, as always, big news, and totally different, as always again, from anything he has done before. This time he has collaborated heavily with the guys from La Barberia del Sur, who provide some very jazzy guitar work. But the elements that went into this recording are as radically varied as on his Misa Flamenca. The words of Garcia Lorca, the guitars of Pepe Habichuela and J.M. Canizares, the voices of Bulgarian Womens Choir, and the church bells of San Nicolas del Albaicin in Granada recorded live at 5:00 AM?! You have to love Morente or hate him, but this is quite a potaje, and not to be missed.
