El Ruso ~ Flamenco Antiguo ~ CD

Discovered in the early 90's, Manuel Rodriguez Garciolo "El Ruso" (1932-1999) was from a small village in Granada, where he worked the land until his recent death. He became a bit of a sensation at the Seville Expo of 1992, because the cantes he performs and his style of singing are like those of 80 years ago. This recording of his last performance, at the Paparanda Festival in Granada is an interesting document of both the singer and the cantes he carried with him throughout his life.
