Kek Lang ~ Chants Roms ~ CD
Discovered when Tony Gatlif was making the film Latcho Drom, the members of this group all hail from the village of Nyabator in eastern Hungary. Vocals accompanied by guitar, accordian, jugs, spoons.... The songs are complex and emotional, festive with chaotic undertones, and "reek of mud, woodsmoke, cheap vodka, and foul language."
