Erköse Ensemble ~ Gypsy Music of Turkey ~ CD
The five members of Erkose’s Gipsy ensemble play kaman, ud, clarinet, kanun, and darbuka. Recorded in Istanbul in 1991, this is a varied program that alternates solo improvisations on the various instruments in the ensemble with by turns plaintive and celebratory group segments.
