Baro Ferret ~ Swing Valses d'Hier et d'Aujourd'hui ~ CD
An original member of the Quintette du Hot Club with Django, Ferret made over 80 recordings with Django and countless others on his own and with other ensembles. He was best known for his "Swing Waltzes," which some felt to be a contradiction in terms. Ferret made them work magically, stamping them with his sound, and influencing many later musicians in the process. These recordings were made in Paris in 1965/66, and include an obscure waltz by Django. Ferret is accompanied by his brother Matelo and others.
