Isabel Guerrero ~ Patio Viejo ~ CD
Really like this one. Isabel Guerrero, native of Fuengirola, Malaga, and in fact the daughter of Barquerito de Fuengirola (winner of the Lampara Minera), has recently won recognitions like the Silla de Oro in Madrid, and numerous others in her own region. For this her recording debut, she is accompanied primarily by a young Carlos Haro on guitar, whose accompaniments are spot-on tasteful and surprisingly traditional. David Galiano contributes some occasional percussion, but all in all this is a very sober selection of traditional cante.Desde Que Tu Me Faltas (Malaguena & Cante Abandolao), El Cante Llevo Heredao (Solea), Silencio en la Malagueta (Cantinas), No Hay Querer en el Mundo (Peteneras) Vela por la Mare Mia (Granaina & Media Granaina), Acaba Ya de Una Vez (Cante de Levante), Mira Si Yo a Ti Te Quiero (Tangos), La Rodeaban (Fandangos), and En el Barrio de Triana (Tona).
