This 65-minute documentary traces the history of the cajon from Peru to Cuba to Spain, where it was introduced into Flamenco by Paco de Lucia and his ensemble. In the short years since, the cajon has become the standard percussion instrument in Flamenco, and has made its way into many other styles of music. The program includes rare footage of Paco de Lucia with Rubem Dantas and Manolo Soler on cajones, Peruvian master Cotito, Cuban master Angá..., and commentary from Flamenco cajon players and other musicians who have incorporated the instrument in their music.
