Stephane Grappelli ~ Live in San Francisco ~ DVD
Live recordings from two performances in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1982. Grappelli is in top form, and the ensemble's tight communication is dazzling. Acoustic guitarist Diz Disley provides the Django flavor, driving the ensemble rhythmically and occasionally adding his own crisply phrased solos. Martin Taylor on electric guitar gives the group its more contemporary edge, while double bassist Jack Sewing keeps everything solidly anchored with his unobstrusive but brilliant playing. Special guest appearances by David Grisman and others.
